The Brooke is the UK’s leading overseas equine welfare charity and its aim is to improve the lives of horses, donkeys and mules working in the poorest parts of the world, including Egypt. Visitors to Africa see what an important role these animals play in the economy, and sadly also the harsh conditions and mistreatment they endure. I have been to the Brooke Hospital in Luxor and seen for myself the tireless commitment of the vets there and the important role they play in not only treating and reviving ill and injured animals, but in educating communities about the importance of caring for their working animals.

Facing the World is a team of volunteer cranio-facial surgeons who assist children in poor communities with severe facial deformities.

Starfish Greathearts is an international development charity, aiming to bring life, hope and opportunity to AIDS-orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa.
